CoreRegulations

1. Standards of Dress and Behaviour

a. All personnel are expected to wear appropriate uniform when they are on-duty, as outlined in the specific Uniform Regulations for their service branch.

b. Personnel on active duty in uniform are required to salute when they meet and recognise persons of superior rank and/or position also in uniform. The junior member should always salute first, out of respect for the uniform and authority of the Republic Armed Forces rather than the individual. Saluting is also required when delivering any report to a superior, and to acknowledge the receipt of any order.

c. Any individual of higher Rank or Position should always be addressed directly as "Sir", or addressed by their Rank, or combination of Rank and Name. Individuals of lower Rank or Position should be addressed by their Rank or combination of Rank and Name. In the case of addressing an individual of higher Rank, but lower Position, then Position takes precedence.

d.Smoking and consumption of alcohol is prohibited while on-duty and/or in-uniform, in all parts of the ship.  Smoking and consumption of alcohol is permitted while off-duty and out of uniform only in a designated Recreational Room or personal quarters.
Restricted substances (ie. spice, narcotics) are prohibited at all times. Spice and narcotics, or unprescribed medicate use, is strictly prohibited and is punishable according to Military Law.

2. Standing Ops Group

a. A "standing" Ops Group should maintained at all times possible in order to better keep track of crew.  All personnel on Active Duty (RPing) aboard ship should be invited to join this Group.  If no Standing Ops Group exists, it is the duty of the seniormost officer or NCO  (determined by position first and rank second) on active duty to form it.

4. Hyperspace Travel

a. Acceleration of any capital ship to FTL (Faster Than Light) velocities may only be authorised by an Executive Officer, or higher.

b. All ship's crew should be notified prior to hyperspace jump via Fleetcom at 10 minute, 5 minute, 1 minute, and 10 second warning times.

c. All ship's crew should be kept notified of the ship's current location at all times by the updating of the Navigational Location (NAVLOC) broadcast (OOC: in Guild Message of the Day, and in the 'NAVLOC' tab on the website).

5. Alert Condition

a. The ‘Alert Condition’ of a vessel, or a formation of vessels, represents the combined readiness of all hands and systems aboard. Alert Condition is used to communicate standing orders to relevant personnel, and indicate the current status of the ship; whether it is operating normally or preparing for battle, for example.

b. Alert Condition is divided into five levels of severity, each with its own implications for how matters should proceed aboard the ship. Each level is numbered, with lower numbered levels representing a more critical condition and requiring greater measures to be taken by the crew.

Condition One

'Red Alert' -- the highest alert status, signalling a clear and present danger to the ship and crew.

Condition Two

'Orange Alert' -- elevated alert status, communicating the development of a critical situation that requires urgent attention.

Condition Three

'Yellow Alert' -- basic alert status, signalling the current watch to be wary of developing situations.

Condition Four

'Blue Alert' -- hazardous non-combat activity requiring the crew to take precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the ship and crew.

Condition Five

Standard shipboard operations -- sometimes referred to alternatively as 'Condition White'.

c. Team Leaders may change the alert condition of a single vessel. Executive Officers, or higher, are the only personnel permitted to change the alert condition of multiple vessels within the Cruiser Strike Group.

d. When the Alert Condition of the RSS Gav Daragon or other vessels within the Cruiser Strike Group is changed, a notification must be sent to all personnel via the Fleetcom channel. Any additional instructions beyond the standing orders prescribed by a given Alert Condition should also be relayed by Fleetcom simultaneously.

6. Jedi Personnel

a. All Enlisted and Commissioned Jedi serving aboard ship will be treated equally to any other personnel with the following exceptions as granted by the Republic Mercy Corps Act:

b. Jedi Apprentices, Knights, and Masters are by tradition accorded the right to be addressed by double-rank combination of their Republic Navy and Jedi Order ranks, ie. "Master-Corporal", "Knight-Captain", "Apprentice-Lieutenant".

c. Jedi are by tradition accorded the right to wear formal Jedi Robes in place of standard service uniforms, and to wear Jedi Battle Armour in place of standard service battledress, where it does not conflict with the regulations and requirements of their individual units.

d. Jedi are by tradition accorded the right to refuse to carry out any order that they believe to represent a serious breach of the Jedi Code.  If such a situation occurs, a Board of Inquiry led by the highest-ranked Commissioned Jedi or his/her delegated nominee shall be convened at the earliest available opportunity.  If the Board finds that the refused order was in fact legitimate under the Jedi Code, the Jedi will then face ordinary Military Court Martial for Disobedience.
